The Grand Crêt d'eau (French Jura), 1 day : in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Reservation, the Crêt d'Eau is a double summit, one of the highest expression of the Jura range. Breathtaking views over Geneva, the Mont Blanc and the french plains to the West. A long walk up but an amazing destination. Medium to tough grade, 7 hours walking time (depending on snow conditions).
A night in the Parc jurassien vaudois (Canton of Vaud), 2 days: this hike takes place in the Brassus area, the land of luxury watches and fine cheeses. Discover the natural wilderness surrounding the small villages, gentle hills covered with deep forests. We will navigate amongst them, following the tracks of lynxes and mountain grouses, and we spend the night in a small private cabin lost in the woods. Night in hut. Easy grade, 3 hours and 5 hours of daily walking times.
The Jura ridges, Mont Tendre (Canton of Vaud), 1, 2 or 3 days : who would have thought that one of the best views of the Alps was from the top of the Jura range ? The panorama over the Swiss plateau and the Alps is just unbelievable : you can see from Geneva to the Eiger (Grindelwald). The Jura extends it long white body from Geneva to Basel and the stretch we have chosen for you, leading us across the Mont Tendre (1700 m) is amongst the best of all. Nights in huts. Medium grade, between 4 hours and 6 hours of daily walking times.
La Crevasse (Canton of Valais), 1 day: the name evokes a frozen hole in a glacier, but in fact the Crevasse is a promontory above Martigny that is easy to reach but allows one to experience a real mountainous atmosphere : a frozen roadside, rolling pastures of sparkling snow dotted with golden larches, fierce cliffs overlooking the Rhône valley and breathtaking views towards the Grand Combin (4600 m) massif. Easy grade, 3.5 hours walking time.
Rochers du Cerf (France), 2 days : somewhere between Pontarlier and La Brévine, the white cliffs of the Rochers du Cerf (literally "the Stag's Rocks" extend acroos the hillside as a white ribbon against the snowy outcrops. This is a place of remote calmness and soothing atmospheres. No other tourists. Night in a cosy B&B with sauna and gastromomical food. Easy grade, 3h00 daily walking time.
Signal de Rodomont (Canton of Vaud), 1 day : standing high up above the village of Rougemont, this round outcrop of rocks covered with forests turns out to be a vast summit, barren and austere but with an amzing view over the "High Country" behind Montreux. Rodomont means the "Red Mountain" because of the red shales that appear at the foot of the mountain. Tough grade, a nice climb, 5h00 walking time.
Jura Grand Traverse (Cantons of Vaud and Neuchâtel), 6 to 8 days : a lifetime adventure that leads us through remote valleys and hills, through forests and frozen pastures, along ridges that glow with white cristals where fierce winds blow. We travel from hut to hut with the occasional hotel stopover. We start above Nyon and end up in the Neuchâtel country, depending on snow conditions. Medium to tough grades. Between 4h00 and 6h00 daily effective walking times.
Full moon outings (various destinations) : a unique experience under the moon with snowshoes on your feet. It's amazing how much you can see under the moonlight, but you will also open up to new sensations under the stars. We usually finish with a delicious fondue or raclette in a mountain restaurant. These outings take place bewteen 5 and 11 PM about. Easy grade. Between 2 hours and 3 hours walking time.
