The country with a funny name - Intyamon (Bulle region), 1 day: wild plants to eat, from grass to milk, let's drink some raw milk (for those who want!), outdoor memory game in the trees, the time machine, … 5 kms walking distance. Ideal age group: 8-12.
The Niremont (Châtel St-Denis region), “how to travel on the back of a mountain”, 1 day: plants to eat, let's draw the mountains, ridges revealed, the great history of glaciers, the Big Drum, visit to a mountain sheperd's hut. 7 kms walking distance. Ideal age group: 10-14.
From Nozon to Mormont (Yverdon region), or "a trip 3 thousand years back in time" in one single day: plants to eat, deep gorges and waterfall, fossils, the middle of the world, a medieval castle, lets meet our ancestors the Celts. 8 kms walking distance. Ideal age group: 10-15.
Treasure hunt (Les Diablerets region, but can also take place elsewhere), half day or full day: groups of 3 or 4, go from clue to clue using a map and a compass! 1-2 hours walking time for every group. Ideal age group: 12-16.
Back to the woods, half day. Learn how to survive in the wilderness, the plants you can eat, build your own shelter, filter water, build a fire and try lighting it without matches or lighter. This activity is even better over a full day.
Wild animal tracks, half day. Look for animal tracks and signs of their presence. Role games to feel at ease in the woods and the mountains. Summer or Winter. Full day also possible.
Rocks and Minerals, half day. This activity starts with an introduction to the basics of geology and mineralogy: discover our great collection of rocks, minerals and fossils! We then hike out to find our own rocks, and learn about how mountains are formed, and... how long they will last. We talk about Dinosaurs, Mammoths and giant glaciers. Children go back with a piece of rock as old as Dinosaurs! Full day possible too.
Finding your way in the wilderness, half day or full day. Learn how to read a map and use a compass with an altimeter. These are the basics you can use in all circumstances, without relying on satellites and GPS connectivity! A "trail run" (jeu de piste in French) is organised at the end of the day. Great fun garanteed!
Stars at night, evening around the fire and star gazing sessions. Legends of the night skies. Interactive learning. 10 Tricks to spot the main constellations and the brightest stars.
Gather & Cook your own wild plants, half day or full day. Learn to recognise wild edible plants, gather them and cook them yourselves to make a delicious soup that we will eat all together at the end of the day (or at midday).
